Win a Grand for your Garden

Huge congratulations to Megan Rees from Oxford who entered the competition hoping to change the life of her three year old daughter Ariella.

Ariella has severe disabilities, she was given a 10% chance of survival at birth and has beaten the odds. Her parents have had to give up work to provide round the clock care for her as her needs are so complex.

Ariella currently has nowhere safe to play outside and canโ€™t even go to the park as it is too risky for her.

We are very excited to begin the transformation and give Ariella beautiful garden to play in. Watch this space!

To win a garden makeover would mean the world to me and my girls. I'm a single parent and have lived at my current address for over 24yrs. I don't have green fingers and hate creepy crawlies. I live in an end maisonette which means I have a front garden (like everyone else) plus a massive side garden which is great and I'm sure many people would love to have a garden of this size but it's so overwhelming and too much to maintain for us. My daughters try their best, bless them. We shop at Columbia road flower market from time to time for some hardy plants and lawn but its overgrown now and taken over by the weeds again. It's like we're fighting a losing battle. A couple of years ago I arranged for a landscaping company to get rid of all the weeds/ bushes / rubbish, to lay down some bark chippings and to treat the soil. Hoping it would keep the weeds at bay but after a while it all grew back again and I later noticed that the 'cowboys' did not use the correct underlay but instead they used the bags the bark chippings came in. Very sly and so upsetting!! If you zoom in you can see the white bags on the ground and some wild life. Yes, foxes!! The cocky little creatures are having a field day, galavanting at night and disturbing our sleep...
It would be great to have a beautiful, low maintenance, fox free garden once and for all, after all these years to enjoy this summer and many more.
'Weed' be truly grateful! Pun intended!!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜€
Thanks, Jen, Rina & Bell.
