Huge congratulations to Megan Rees from Oxford who entered the competition hoping to change the life of her three year old daughter Ariella.
Ariella has severe disabilities, she was given a 10% chance of survival at birth and has beaten the odds. Her parents have had to give up work to provide round the clock care for her as her needs are so complex.
Ariella currently has nowhere safe to play outside and can’t even go to the park as it is too risky for her.
We are very excited to begin the transformation and give Ariella beautiful garden to play in. Watch this space!

Winning a garden makeover would be a dream come true for my daughter, Anouska, who lives in Bedford with her nine month son, Isaac. She moved into her home almost three and a half years ago and has been doing it up gradually with whatever spare money she has had. In June, last year, after many years of trying, she gave birth to her little boy and now has little time or money to spend on the garden. As a special needs teacher, working with pupils with severe learning difficulties, she has dedicated her working life to helping to enrich the lives of others. She is returning to her demanding job in a few weeks time so will have even less time to do any work on the garden. As you can see from the photos, the area is a bit of an eyesore but has loads of potential to be transformed into a work of art!
We created a small bedding area last summer by taking up some of the paving slabs and her dream is to create a grassed area for Isaac to enjoy and some raised beds for him to learn how to grow vegetables. He adores spending time outdoors and this helps with his eczema. She also needs somewhere she can relax herself as the demands of her job and bringing up a child on her own can be stressful at times.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
