Huge congratulations to Megan Rees from Oxford who entered the competition hoping to change the life of her three year old daughter Ariella.
Ariella has severe disabilities, she was given a 10% chance of survival at birth and has beaten the odds. Her parents have had to give up work to provide round the clock care for her as her needs are so complex.
Ariella currently has nowhere safe to play outside and can’t even go to the park as it is too risky for her.
We are very excited to begin the transformation and give Ariella beautiful garden to play in. Watch this space!

October last year my beautiful 16 year old brother was the victim of a hit and run. He was knocked from his bike and left to die in the road. He spent the next 3 weeks fighting for his life and has spent the last 6 months in a rehabilitation hospital. He has gone from being a gifted and talented musician to being unable to play because his right arm is paralised. He was named head boy of his school year and had begun looking into universities for his future, now he works on learning how to shower himself and walk again. The night of the accident to save his life they had to remove half of his skull, he lived without it for 5 months until a replacement was made. His own skull had to be thrown away because of the damage. He suffered massive complications and again spent time in intensive care.
He lives at home with his loving parents who had to be told day after day for 3 weeks that there beloved son would be likely to die. Then in rehabilitation to discover all the hopes and dreams they had for him were all but lost and they would have to forge a new life.
He will return home to a house that can never fully meet all his needs, it would be wonderful if the garden could be a retreat for all the family.
