My kitchen is like a Monet painting from a distance it looks ok, but up close it's a big old mess!
I still have the horrible built in kitchen that came with my flat when it was built; I attempted a DIY makeover on the cheap which has turned out to be a big mistake.
I painted the old fashioned cabinets and put new handles on the doors as well as stupidly painting the tiles. Little did I know a year & a half down the line it would make my kitchen look even worse.
The tile paint peels owing to steam from cooking. The cupboard paint has bubbled from using good old Dettol on it to clean and has some of it has flaked off owing to a rather naughty cat scratching when he was a kitten.
I have tried every substance known to man to try and get the tile paint off and it won't budge. I don't have the patience or skills to sand and repaint the cupboards to fix them also 2 of the doors are a bit wobbly.
On top of the cupboard/tile problem I've got the oven from hell with the door that doesn't close properly, a sloping floor from when the washing machine flooded also the wood skirting at the bottom has warped from water damage.
Just looking at my kitchen makes me feel depressed. It probably feels worse as my kitchen/sitting room is open plan so there is no escaping from it.
I'm a big foodie and love cooking so it would mean a lot to finally have a nice kitchen to cook in.
Spot the striped bandit stealing a pack of Dreamies in the background of the picture ;)
