Post divorce I have just moved with my Mum to an ex local authority property. It doesn't look that bad does it?? The previous owners (obviously DIY greenhorns) have had a stab at putting in a cheap kitchen from B and Q. Unfortunately the doors are crooked, one of them has holes in it where they put the handles in the wrong place, the worktop has large chunks out of it, the sink and taps are pure 50's council house (retro but not in a good way) the plug sockets are all in the wrong places so there are trailing leads to all the kitchen appliances halfway up the walls and the whole thing is rickety, slapdash and ever so slightly depressing! What we want is something that melds our two personal styles (hers is all Laura Ashley whilst mine is minimalist Shaker style) something well designed, ergonomic, clean and sharp and neat and light and fun....and a bit witty! It's may not be the worst but it sure aint the best either and I would love to make my mums mouth corners go up with a new one for the first time in her hard-working. coupon cutting, make do and mend existence!!
