Look at it! It's a bit like us, scrappy round the edges.
We moved into our first home in November 2013 after a few years of struggling following redundancy. When we moved in, the whole house was a total wreck and as we had very little money my husband (who is in no way a DIY pro) has been forced to do it up himself. He has tried his best but there have been mishaps along the way - for example, he laid the floor but it's uneven because he didn't realise you had to make sure the surface underneath was flat in the first place. We still don't have doorknobs or any decoration, there are not enough cupboards, the kitchen window doesn't open and there is a big hole in the wall at the back by the bin.
I would really love us to win to give my husband a break with the DIY and the financial cost. I'd love a smart stylish kitchen that's child-friendly - we want to adopt so our home has to be ready to welcome a little person.
