This is actually me standing in my mum's kitchen!! Well if you can call two filthy broken cupboads and disentraged worktop a kitchen. She has lived with this state of a kitchen for over 40 years. For years myself and my brothers and sisters have wanted to help her and put in a new kitchen, clean it...anything but she is too proud to let us help her. She gets very upset so we have to leave her to it. She is a complex person and doesnt believe that people can do their own building work and that we need to spend out time and money on our own families. She will only ever allow a professional builder to do any work at the house, even though she cannot afford it. We have no idea how she manages to feed herself in this hell of a kitchen, there isnt even a properly working cold tap, just an old furred up gas boiler for water. She is housebound now due to walking difficulties. She is very proud and will not admit to now requiring serious help. This kitchen is the stuff that nightmares are made of and we would do anything to help her out of this situation and we're hoping that this might just be the answer to our prayers. There cannot be worse kitchen in the world....the picture doesnt' even do it justice. You have to see it....and smell it...unfortunately to understand. When you talk about changing lives with something....this would be it!! Here's hoping. Thank you!
