I would invite everyone to come for a delicious homecooked meal... if anyone were happy with it coming out of my kitchen! It beggars belief that someone actually lived here before I bought it, but they did... the plaster is scorched and bubbling; the units are slimed with decades of mulch; the disused ancient boiler is falling apart, and it all stinks.

I need to win this competition because I have to hope there's a Cinderella story here. I bought it as my last ditch attempt at leaving home and getting on the property ladder - gazumped twice and fighting a mad rising market, this was the only place I could afford. It was never my plan to buy a reno; my parents are in very poor health (especially my blind & deaf father) and I work full-time, so I'm worried I don't have the time, energy or funds to realise the potential of this place. But I'm hopeful that someday soon, I'll be able to call this place my home.
