I can't have friends round because i am so embarassed about my kitchen. Rotten wooden joists holding up a rotten poly ceiling. My tiles are black where they are so mouldy and even with elbow grease i can't shift it. My cupboards are rotting and my worktops are supported underneath with breeze blocks where the kitchen was never installed correctly. I have cooker flex running around the top of my ceiling with water running down. I have 3 children and worry about them, sometimes i cry whilst just stood in my kitchen looking round. Oh and slugs ... they come in at night and many a time i have stood on them if i go in the kitchen in the dark. One night i turned on the light and counted 14 slugs... I have to spray my worktops every morning with anti bac spray, you can actually see silver trails on the side. Sorry my photos do not do it justice.
