My bathroom is in dire need of a makeover because:

1. I have lived here for 30 years and, in all that time, I've never been in a position financially to completely refurbish it. I have to make do with just painting and self DIY ing.
2. I have a basin unit that I made myself from bits of board I had in the shed. It's rough, it's rustic and it's rubbish! I'd never used a jigsaw before so you can imagine how the cutout for the basin ended up. I had to resort to a hand saw in the end - something else I'm not very good with. The cutout is all jagged, the basin isn't straight and it has so much filler around it to stop it moving about and leaking it's ridiculous. There's no door on it as my limited skills didn't reach to doing one so I had to hang some material across the front.
3. My bath has a patch of enamel missing from where a cup was dropped on it years ago and I had to carry out another bodge job on the bath panel because it kept coming off. Also, the bath seems to have slipped a little at one end as there's a gap below the sealant.
4. The taps on the basin don't work very well. The hot one is very stiff and slow running and the cold spins about when turned. I've tried to sort them out but with no luck.

All in all a bathroom to be very ashamed of. I've tried to sort the issues but the only remedy is a complete ripout and start again. I'd love to be able to do this but just don't have the money as I'm a one income household and have to stick to a budget that doesn't run to this 😯
