Why does my new rendering crack

We recently had our whole house rendered over pebble dash, we had a few problems of crazy cracking on one wall which is south facing, the builder redone this wall again. Now 5 months down the line the rendering has started to crack again, we have tried filling them but more keep appearing. We are now deciding whether to remove the top coat put wire mesh on top of the scratchcoat (which was sound)and render over this. Do you think this will work?????

Sand cement render will always crack no matter what methods or steps taken. It does not have the ability to withstand shrinkage, weather erosion and movement of the property. There are a wide variety of new render systems designed not to crack and to be flexible and breathable. They are also through coloured so you will not have to paint ever again. I would be more than happy to provide more details of the products available.

Hi this could be a number of things not enough feb mix was added the sand was building sand it should be soft wash sand or pit sand or it could be he never added lime the list goes on also putting eml (mesh) on top of scratch coat will not stop it from cracking as you have described you will be wasting your money and it's really expensive around £10 per sheet which is only 8x3 feet if the brickwork had cracks before I would use eml then but what you have is airline cracks which is down to the mixture hope this helps you there is ways to repaire the cracks so when you paint it they won't show through I can give you some tips if you wanted hope this helps you regards skylightplastering
