what is the best boiler to get for a 3 bed semi detached house

Hi,

I need to replace a boiler in a 3 bed semi detached house, i want good hot water pressure, anyone recommend a good boiler?

and how much should i pay for a swap over on the boiler? currently there is a old combo boiler and the new boiler is going into the same place.

Thanks

hi,
to answer your first question, hot water pressure from a combi boiler depends on two things, the size of the boiler output in kw,and the incoming cold water mains pressure.
most 28kw combis will deliver aproximatly 11ltrs a min to one open tap,but a 35kw combi can deliver up to 14ltrs a min.
but if your incoming water main is only delivering 10ltrs a min to the property thats all you will get from the boiler watever the boiler size.

you should pay around £1200 +vat for a28kw combi with existing controls,
and around £1500+vat for a 35kw combi.
most boilers on the market nowdays are very reliable and come with various
guarantees ranging from 1to 5 years, most boiler problems ocur from poor instalation and bad advise on the existing system.
i hope this is helpfull to you.

to be honest i have fitted most of the big makes ie vaillant, vokera, worcester etc etc.would not put any on a wall anymore!!!!! you get yourself A IDEAL LOGIC PLUS!great combi will fit in a kitchen cupboard, churn the hot water out as long as you have good pressure, and the heating side is bang on, and in manchester n.w you can get a 30kw for £850 that includes flue and clock.fitting £350 and if the guy is like me he will put a magnaclean on at the same time, for the price of the unit,about£90 TOATAL £1290 and you get 5years parts and labour warranty as long as they are serviced 12 monthly!!!! tom clydebank plumbing&heating

its a combi so your hw pressure will be about the same as the cold water pressure so if its poor now it will remain poor regarless of make or model of the new boiler, without taking into account factors i would look for on a quote i would reccomend a worcester greenstar 25si with tf1 filter look to be paying around 1900 for a decent straight forward combi swap with no extras larger firms similar price + vat!
