Ash and his team were absolutely lovely! The job was competitively priced and although the team were there for a day or so longer than expected, the price quoted was the price paid. I hired AJ Electrical to fit/replace a Hue downlight in my dining room. The company was quick in contacting me and providing me a fair quote. The electrician arrived and was friendly and efficient and fitted the light and we are very happy with the service we received.

We hired AJ Carpentry service (ACS) for a renovation work of our house. We expected from this company the following: Accurate quotes, realistic timeline, and high quality of the renovation. However we got the following: Accurate quotes: Unfortunately we ended up paying much around 20% more than the agreed quoted price. Realistic timeline: The job wasn't finished within schedule. ACS scheduled the job to be done in 6 weeks and ended up with a 11 weeks delay. High quality of the renovation: In our opinion, ACS did not use reasonable care and skill when they provided the renovation service. They removed the water meter without our consent. It took us years (and tens of mails, phone calls and several visits to our local Citizens Advice Bureau) to get the refund of the water meter installation, which only happen when we were about to make a claim to the small claims court. Worth mentioning the bad quality of the carpentry jobs. Doors: missing parts of the doors (door architraves, door stops, etc...); not sanded doors...; skirtings winth bended nails; kitchen cabinets with extra hinge holes (filled with a interior filler); whey evenbroke a wooden windowsill and replaced it with a plastic one without our consent. In summary, we haven’t recommended (and will not recommend) ACS to our friends and family. Because we made a good use of mybuilder.com , we thought our feedback could be important for people who, like us, don't have family/friends to ask for recommendations.

AJ Electrical were responsible for connecting a freestanding structure at the end of our garden with electricity and internet connections. I also asked them to perform various upgrades to the electrical system in my house at the same time. I was extremely pleased with the company. The review and quote process was very quick and simple, Ash provided helpful information and advice from experience working with these kinds of island structures, as we were still in the design process at the time. In the lead up to the work taking place, I found AJ Electrical's communication very good, they called once or twice to check the agreed dates were still OK, and I was able to call with a few queries and speak to someone quickly. The job itself took less time than I expected and AJ Electrical were extremely quick, quiet and professional throughout. The job experienced a few hiccups, requiring additional trips to pick up additional equipment/materials - these were taken without fuss or alarm and caused no more stress or confusion to me or the job in general. AJ Electrical also checked and corrected a mistake in the electrical system installed by the builders who had previously installed the structure, so were able to perform all the necessary safety checks and assurances simply. I would be happy to recommend AJ Electrical for anyone requiring electrical work, and would be happy to use them again in the future.
