    Removal of internal kitchen wall

    On Tuesday 5th July 2011 Damien came to do the work on my kitchen things went well until Friday 8th July 2011 when Damien had to finish the work off and put a box around the gas pipe to make the job neat. I asked how are you going to do this knowing full well that he had plastered the central heating pipes into the wall on the Thursday. Damien replied with this trade no nails adhesive I said fine. Damien did not use no nails adhesive and used screws instead resulting in a burst central heating pipe. The central heating pipe had to be repaired on Saturday 9th July 2011 and on Monday 11th July 2011 I gave Damien two choices you either finish the job off to a high standard today with no accidents and get paid in full by cash or you walk away with £500 cash already paid to him on Friday. Damien choose to leave the job unfinished.

    I need someone with knowledge, experience & referencees to put right a job that has been F$$ked up by a so called builder, Internal load bearing wall has been removed from a property we are renovating & has now been made unsafe according to building inspector. I need a quotation & written report from someone, outlining the mistakes, rules broken etc & the cost to put the job right so i can take the orginal builder to court. The work will need to be done either way but at the moment i just need a quote. Preferably a member of FMB or similiar body that can provide referencees etc that will be checked so we don't make the same mistake again. Simon ( you know who you are) if you read this don't bother to ask to see the job, ill see you in court instead.

    Damien from DS Builders arrived on time and gave a good impression from the start. He was knowledgeable about what i needed doing to rectify the works after some cowboy made a right mess. He provided a professional looking report which is just what i needed. Damien has also gave me an estimate to do the work which was higher than my other two quotes but i will be going with DS Builders to do the work as i have found out cheapest is not the best. Highly recommended tradesman just wish i had found DS first

    Total re furb of property after cowboy builder ripped Sheila off. We: * re plastered whole house * Fitted new doors. * Re wired * Fitted new upvc windows & doors * Fitted new bathroom and kitchen * Sorted plumber with our gas safe contractor.

    Damien came and did me a report on a house renovation I had been having done by another builder and was concerned with. He was very helpful and gave me some very good suggestions as well as a good report on the work that had been carried out. I then had my original builder put right some of the work but had little confidence in him. I then got back in touch with Damien through yellow pages and got him to finish my house. I cannot praise him enough, he is honest reliable and goes out of his way to help and make any suggestions he thinks would be best. His work is first class. I will most definitely use him on my next project and recommend him to anyone I know.

    Leveling of ground, finishing steps and pointing

    ...didn't finish job...

    Answer from tradesperson:

    *They wanted extra work done not in the original quote but refused to pay for it. * They refused to pay for works which had been done. * They made a compliant to the FMB which was thrown out. * Had to pass there invoice on to a debt colection agency to get paid. Beware of this customer there more trouble than there worth. if they continue to bad name my company i will take legal action.

    re- Built chimney stack

    I found it very difficult to find a builder who I would be happy with. I managed to find Damien, who did my chimney stack and I was very pleased with his work. His work was reasonably priced, he was very clean (for a builder!) and extremely polite. He was really good, flexible with his time and very reliable.
