Sound proofing on top of floorboards
Hi there,
We live on the second floor in a Victorian conversion, the flat below in very noisy. The floorboards are bare at the moment but wooden flooring will be laid on top. Before we put them down we would like to put some sound proofing on top of the floorboards. One tradesman has recommended putting warmup boards on top of the floorboards and then laying the flooring on top of this. Is this a good solution? We are looking for something very effective that will take away noise as best as possible. Does anyone have any other advice/recommendations?
Any help would be great.

Trying to find out the best acoustic insultation for 320mm joist gaps
Hi there, we're trying to find a decent insulation to fit into 320mm wide gaps between our joists in our floor which separate our flat from the flat below. Although we've found lots of very good insulation, the good ones all seem to be 600mm wide which will cause us a lot of wastage. Would anyone be able to recommend a good insulation that will fit into 320mm or at least leave a lot less waste-age? I guess we'd need 400mm wide insulation. Thanks very much for any help.
