We hired Nick to lay a solid wood herringbone parquet floor. We knew from his My Builder profile that Nick would be competent at laying an ordinary plank or engineered board floor. We also knew that Nick did not have as much experience laying parquet as we would have liked. However he was available immediately and his quote was significantly lower than the competition.
We did experience a few challenges getting the floor laid correctly. However we got there in the end as a bit of a team effort and I would highly recommend Nick for his dedication, ability to take suggestions on board and general "can-do" approach. He is a competent young carpenter and clearly could have laid a simpler floor with ease. It was pleasant to have him around, he was neat and tidy, pleasant, helpful and learnt fast - and the floor looks lovely, thanks.

Work History
I am a fully qualified carpenter and also I have worked for 4/5 years with a general builder and we tackled any type of job from a roof leak to re-developing an old milking shed to a blacksmiths workshop, bathroom fitting, patios to extentions.
So there isnt a job to small or to large I wont be able to tackle and if I cant do it then I know plenty of tradesmen I can put in your direction to give the best advise.
I am a sole trader but don't let that put you off as I can turn my hand to most things.
I served my time for Barratts where I gained my GNVQ levels 1,2 &3. At Barratts I was on big housing developments. I then moved into property maintenance.
For some time I worked for a hardwood flooring company manufactering flooring,fitting, and maintaning floors to a very high standards, something which i still do now.
I have worked on sites for a few years where i gained my knowledge of timber framed housing which has come in handy as I have build a few extentions from timber frame making it quick and cheaper for the clients.
I now am back in the property maintenance and my works include all aspects of carpentry (internal and external) as well as decorating and general maintenance.
I am working all over the South West, Laying wooden/ laminate flooring, refurbing houses ready for clients to rent out, doing extentions and renavations ans well as offering any help and advise a customer needs along the way.

Qualifications & Accreditations
I have GNVQ in carpentry & joinery levels 1,2 & 3
I have a CSCS card for carpentry & joinery and a health and safety. I have aquired alot of skills along with my carpentry including:- bathroom fitting, wall & floor tiling and decorating.
I am just in the process of completing a house refurb, extention and complete garden remodel, including building new walls, steps, laying patios and fencing
I can also build stone and block walls.
I also do General Maintance on properties as well.
I have all the equipment for maintaning wooden floors and high polished tiles.
