Jason did the work in satisfactory manner, but I was rather disappointed with the doors he fitted upstairs and the hindges were not suitable for the heavy doors and he fitted them without advising the consequences.
He also arranged to come back on another day to fit a replacement bathroom door when it is delivered. No extra money was discussed. When I called him to arrange a date, he mentioned additional charges.

The doors and hinges were supplied by the client, after quoting and once starting work I was asked to piece in old locks and hinge holes to the seven frames into which I was fitting new doors which I did at no extra charge. I advised that the client’s hinges were not really strong enough, the client thought otherwise however when the client saw that the hinges were creaking she went and bought heavier hinges for the remaining doors. I did not charge to hang the door that was supplied damaged by the client. The client did not want to pay me an additional £30 to make a separate visit with tools etc on a Saturday to hang the replacement of the damaged door that she supplied. I think the client was totally unreasonable.

Apprentice served Carpenter with Advanced City & Guilds Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery dated 1985, now with 30 years experience in the domestic and commercial construction industry having worked on high end domestic refurbishments such as the complete refurbishment of 1 Chester Square, Belgravia, London and on shop fitting and office refurbishments throughout the UK for clients such as Swarovski, American Express & BAA. I have had managerial roles as facilities manager for American Express, contracts manager for Ideal Offices PLC
