I got Shane to fit 6 doors and he said he could do it in a day, and that's what he did. Another quote I got needed 2 days and wanted to charge significantly more. I didn't go for Shane just because he was cheaper: I had to weigh up when he initially came whether he could do the job, and I didn't make a mistake in this. He is clearly experienced and efficient, taking a lot of care in fitting doors into frames that weren't perfectly square. He knew I was concerned about making a mess over newly laid carpets and he took care in trying to minimise the mess being trailed in and out of my yard where he did most of the door shaping; and I'm grateful that, without being prompted, he discarded his shoes on the multiple times he went from the interior to the exterior, trying to cut down on the mess. Ply him with cup after cup of (preferably Earl Grey) tea and the odd bag of nuts and he'll keep going till he or the job is finished.

Shane gave us a great quote and has held true to all of the work discussed and required. He has worked hard and put in some long hours to deliver our bookcases when we needed them finished before other tradesmen arrived. He is pleasant, concientious and looks to give you a professional job allround.

Shane installed oak worktops for us in our kitchen and his quality of work was outstanding. He first came to give us a quote and came up with constructive suggestions for the project, with being arrogant or condescending. He then went away to check the cheapest options for us, remaining in constant contact whenever he had news. When fitting the work-tops Shane went above and beyond. He did extra work without charge (strengthened our units) and saved money where he could (developed up-stands from off cuts). The work was of the highest quality and it looks fantastic. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shane to do any joinery work and he will be the first person I approach for any future work I need.

Very happy with the way shane carried out the work,gets on with what needs to be done with no messing about.Installed roofing trusses, dorma windows and spiral staircase.Both myself and the customer were very happy. Will use again without hesitation.

I highly recommend Shane, he was extremely professional (and patient), provided detailed and accurate costs and time frames for completing the work. I had a single story kitchen and utility room that was poorly lit and totally out dated. I was looking for someone to work with me to come up with a solution that would totally open up the existing space and make the room into a light and modern working kitchen whilst at the same time keeping in line with the Victorian theme of the property. Shane came up with the suggestion of taking down the existing ceiling and opening the space up by putting velux windows in the roof, moving the kitchen/utility adjoining wall to make room for custom made wooden double French doors and replacing the old windows with matching custom made wooden framed windows. Shane carried out all the work from initial design to putting in the velux sky lights, fitting the kitchen, French doors and windows. I couldn't be happier with the final product, if you have any joinery work that needs doing Shane is your man. He takes an immense pride in his work and delivered on time and to budget.

I would start off by saying I highly recommend Shane, he was very professional and was very clear about his costs and time it would take to complete the job. I needed a UPVC Window taken out of my ground floor terrace to take out my sofa. I spent all day ringing around window fitters and glaziers asking for availability and quotes. Shane responded to the job request very quickly and made himself available at short notice to help. He did an excellent job at taking the window out and replacing it back so you would never know. Shane also replaced the facets at the front so the window looks better than it did before, Shane was very reliable and very professional. Again for any window fitting he would be your man and he did an amazing job.

Shane is the best carpenter/joiner I have come across He has completed a canopy over our front door, made gates, decking, added skirting boards to hide pipes, boarded loft & added stairs & hatch, made & fitted sliding wardrobes. Shane gives you the price & sticks to it. If you have a budget in mind he will let you know what you can have completed. Cleans up after himself, honest & trustworthy. I can leave him in the house/give him a key if the large jobs have taken a few days meaning I dont have to take time off work & wait around. Shane is always on time & he's a worker. He is also creative - he's made fancy edging / borders / stairs. I will definitely be using him again for the next jobs I have in mind.

I have no hesitation writing a reference for Shane Hopper. He was awesome! I was having nightmares about my house being upside down for Christmas but Shane came along calm as anything (and with his own posh coffee, he gave me some) then just fit my windows in a crack and what a good job and by far was the cheapest price I could find (and i looked). Nice fella too, one of those guys who if he says he will, he will do great stuff (p.s.the coffee was a organic whole bean self grind thing and was delish but i couldn't find it (ask him).
