We sought quotes from 20 people/ companies. 10 declined to quote. Of the 10 that did visit, 3 then declined, 3 were ridiculously over-priced (more than double). Of the 4 left, Frank stood out mostly because he was very easy going and wasn't put off by a tough job. He turned up on time with two others. Frank had the business sense to know that if he did a good job for a fair price that there would be considerably more work coming his way in future years. What I like the most about Frank is that he is always willing to give plenty of sensible advice and that he adapts the way he works as and when he needs to eg he didn’t fully re-plaster our ceiling as we requested- this would have damaged the architrave and coving. Instead he restored it. We were so impressed that we asked if he wouldn’t mind stripping back/ treating the floorboards as an extra. A major additional requirement that Frank just took in his stride. The team then worked tirelessly to re-plaster another ceiling, replace a roof tile (one of a number of things which he threw in for free), strip and paint the front door and are now repainting the front of the house- no easy job. In summary Frank is a great all-rounder. The fact that we have the odd scratch on our floor (it’s about 120 years old so to be expected- although Frank did replace a few of the more damaged boards) only adds to the character and thanks to Frank and his team, our lounge has been transformed back to its former glory. We will be using Frank again.

Absolutely superb. I'll be hiring Frank for more work in the future. Easy to talk to, easy to deal with and he's out to give good service at a fair price. I'd certainly recommend Frank, first class work. Shame I didn't find him earlier.

Frank is a hard working man. Everyday he leaves very late but still shows up early the next day. He is very helpful and experienced. He gave us many useful advises. When there were some problems or something missing, he helped us to fix them patiently. Now our kitchen and dining room looks modern, shiny and spacious. We really appreciate his job and will hire him for other jobs later.

We chose Frank to sort our bathroom and wish we hadnt. We spent £300 cash on using him plus £50 in parts. After he left the taps werent fitted properly as he had drilled the holes in the wrong place as they were to close together, the shower tray wasnt fitted on ply. We instructed a new plumber who came and pointed out numerous faults and leaks and had to take all the fittings out Frank had put in to sort out the problems. We called Frank and he wanted to come back to sort this issues but we had no faith in him so we refused. We asked him for our money back or atleast £100 as we had to buy a new bath but he refused. We dont normally leave reviews like this but felt we had to. We have given him ample time to send some money but have heard nothing we are now over £600 out of pocket due to having to get a new bath and a new plumber to sort out issues.

Frank has today been at my house completing some roofwork and what a brilliant job he has done! He turned up on time, looked smart, knew what he was talking about and got on with it...He finished off slating my roof of the garage, did the leadwork and fitted some guttering/down pipes. My partner and I are very impressed with the work he did today and the price given (very reasonable!!). We will be using Frank again to do our new bathroom and flooring etc in our new house in the near future! Would definately recommend!

This is the second job Frank has done for me. The final outcomes are stunning. very professional. Frank works long hard days and was actually able to start the work slightly earlier than arranged. There were a few hiccups along the way (as there always is with these things) but Franks is a problem solver and seems to solve things with a large emphasis on making sure the work is done properly and that it looks good. The materials frank quoted for was reasonably charged and in actual fact due to some of the problems pre-mentioned. Franks had undercharged me for materials but did not pass this extra cost to me. The end result was a wet-room that is stunning and a family bathroom that is also lovely. Frank ended up being with us for over a month whilst doing this job and after he finished, our children kept asking 'where's Frank?' I would highly recommend Frank for any job you needed. Jude

First thing to say. Is that the final look of my floor is stunning. Now for the whole experience: Frank was very competitive compared to the others because he could get the floor £10 cheaper (per sqaure Metre) than anyone else. He sent the sample of this in and it was of the same quality. On agreeing the deal and paying 50% it transpired that he could not get the floor anymore but could get another on for £5 per squaer metre more expensive than previously said. As it turns ot we could see the difference as the floor was worth the extra money. The next problem was the start date. After telling me he was ready to start on Monday (and the floorwould be arriving) he didn't show. On phoning, he asked if he could start two weeks later. I said no becasue we had ripped the carpet up and taking the skirting boards of. He showed up the next day but without any underlay. These were the main and only problems. Once Frank had started, he worked long days and tirelessly. He showed himself to be a perfectionalist who obviously wanted to do a proper job. He worked around a dog, cat and two young children. He spent 1 extra day on the job due to a few problems but did not charge extra. He offered to make the architrave out of the wood for no extra money - which was very good of him but then ran out of time and was unable to follow through on this, which was a shame. I would fully reccomend Frank as a can not fault the quality or worksmanship or the hard works that he put in. Would use again. Jude
