We had a major problem when the entire roof blew off our stable block leaving 7 of our competition horses exposed to the elements and torrential rain. We called Context Construction and Robin and the team turned up first thing in the morning. Despite having horses still in the stables, they managed to get the entire block secure and water tight in 2 days! We found them really pleasant and easy to deal with; they didn't stop until the job was done. Highly recommended - we have some happy dry horses and a lovely new roof! Work History
Robin Fanning founded Context Construction in 2011 with the aim of providing a customer communication oriented building and design service.
Robin holds a BTEC, HNC and first class honours degree all in civil engineering. He started in the building trade in 2001 working in a precast concrete factory, manufacturing beams, columns, slabs, retaining walls, prison cells and culvert flood relief units. He then moved onto an architectural practice - Keith Farmer Associates - project managing, producing CAD plans, carrying out land surveys, submitting planning and building regulations applications, for new builds, extensions, conversions and farm units. During his time at KFA he worked on various sites in a building capacity carrying out general building. From this job he went into full time education working as a builder throughout his academic career.
Context Construction use a team of highly experienced, qualified tradesmen, ranging from roofers to carpenters to electricians. The team have met through shared passed construction work, and have been selected for their skills and excellent work ethic.
From the design team a notable recent project consisted of the design and planning application for a barn conversion in Taunton. It was for a four bedroom family home built from local stone and timber, with the unique feature of a green roof and various other renewable technologies.
On the construction side the team have completed diverse works from hard landscaping to a recent extensive house renovation, consisting of a loft conversion, replumb, rewire, 2 new staircases, a new kitchen, new bathroom and complete insulation of the existing shell.
