remodel /refurbishment of bungalow
I have thought long and hard before posing this feedback as I had wanted to Ben every opportunity to sort things out but sadly this has not happened.
Ben started out by doing a small refurbishment for me which went ok, there were a few small negatives but these were sorted out .
Ben then asked to quote for the job listed and despite a few reservations due to his age decided to give him the chance of the job.
Unfortunatley the job quickly spiraled out of control, due to his lack of organization, lack of proper equipment,massive over ordering of materials , unwillingness to become involved in any manual labor himself. He failed to provide me with any invoices, a copy of his insurance certificate , receipts for materials . Many of the jobs Ben did have subsequently had to be redone as they were substandard , eg no cladding on new pipework, new gas pipes connected to old pipes that were inadequate to use , new lintles put in out of alignment, etc etc ,
Ben was clearly out of his depth, let me down in a big way and cost me a great deal of money

Yes we started off on a small project which escalated. we were not out of our depth, just on a tight budget and when i mentioned extras the customer told i was to pay for them out of my pocket, this was just one reason for walking off the job. main reason was the the customers husband pushhing me and screaming and shouting in my face. physical abusive behavior. materials were orderd in bulk for discount and could have been sent back. All our work was signed off by building control up to date. just one nasty customer.
