Very quick and professional. Raked out all the failing joints and re set loose bricks. Installed porcelain copings as well on top of wall and got a bonus job of york stone steps by the front door. That's really where his skill comes in.

We recently had our listed schoolhouse repointed and were very pleased with the overall standard of work. The contractor took care to match the new mortar to the existing as closely as possible, using appropriate materials for a historic property, and also skilfully remoulded the portico, which has significantly improved its appearance. Matt is a knowledgeable and conscientious tradesperson who understands the demands of working on historic buildings, and whom we would confidently recommend.

Matt @Avonstone did a great great job re-pointing my cottage exterior wall. On time, on budget and left the site clean and clear. Would certainly Matt hire again.

Great guy good at his trade

Matt gave a very reasonable quote to knock down and rebuild crumbling steps to the front of the house. Some other quotes received from other builders seemed far in excess to the actual job in hand. We now have very sturdy steps built to match in with the front of the house that are now fit for purpose. Matt cleared up after the job and took old bricks away.

Matt was polite and professional with great communication throughout the project. His standard of work was excellent and he left the area clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

The job ended up being much larger than we had thought from street level (which probably happens a lot with high Georgian buildings!). Matt kept us informed throughout in terms of timings and costs, was friendly and worked hard to get the job finished in the timeframe. His work was excellent, high quality and neat.
