Work History
I spent 2 years working for my family run company in hunters bar (Sheffield) as am apprentice doing repairs and alterations on domestic and commercial buildings. I also spent time doing bits of plumbing, plastering, brickwork and drainage with other qualified tradesmen. due to a lack of work i was laid off.
then spent 2 years working with a small builder in Dore (Sheffield) building extensions, one of these years i was doing my advanced joinery course. I learnt how to put up complex roofs (hips, valleys and dormer roofs) as well as fitting doors putting up stud work laying floors etc. i also have learned an expansive knowledge of the building trade as a whole and the management side of it, like what things need to be done and in what order. As well as discussing the clients wants and needs.
my most recent work has been working for a company laying, sanding and finishing reclaimed timber flooring as well as designing and creating bespoke furniture for high end clients in both the domestic and commercial world.
i have spent the last year working for myself doing small jobs to large jobs one of the biggest being knocking into the eaves of a house to create two large bedroom this included taking out stud walls and the ceiling, putting up new walls further back, insulating the walls and the ceilings. Getting plumbers and electricians in to do there bit then plaster boarding and plastering. then finishing off the job with new doors, architrave skirting boards and window sills. all ready to be decorated and enjoyed.
Qualifications & Accreditations
qualified to Level 3 in carpentry & joinery
city & guilds awarding body
CSCS card holder (basically means i am safe to work on site)
All my work is done to a high standard. I do not like cutting corners because its easier to do a good job. I like to keep the work place clean and tidy as its harder to work in a mess, I do not take personal calls on the job as you are paying for my time and i find it very unprofessional, and although this makes me sound like a scourge i'm not.
Please read my reviews as i can say the world about myself but these people will let you know what i am like as a tradesman.
