New loft conversion on end of terrace house.
Toby did a hip to gable with dormer loft conversion for us with walk-in wardrobe and bathroom and we were delighted with the result. We had multiple quotes from a number of companies but we went with Toby as he was very approachable and really listened to the design we wanted providing lots of ideas, if it was possible him and his team could do it attitude which we liked. I also liked dealing directly with the builder incase there were any issues and Toby was very easy to contact and resolved any questions or issues we had quickly. His team were very friendly, considerate and professional we have a busy family home and their presence on site never felt intrusive to our daily life. Our neighbours had lots of questions and concerns before the project but Toby was very patient and professional in dealing with them directly which they appreciated. Despite the pandemic the project finished very close to time and I was kept up to date on timelines and issues that cropped up. The final finish was to a high standard and it's now a wonderful space for us and family/friends, I would highly recommend Toby and his team and wish them the best for the future.

    Two shop refurbishments etc
Thoroughly recommend 3C Build Ltd. This was a complicated job interrupted by Covid lockdown. I live 120 miles away. Toby project managed well, kept me well informed and delivered a great job. Very pleased and satisfied. Thanks!

    New dormer loft conversion
Toby and his team did a L Shape loft conversion for us (summer 2019). They did a great job and ensured we maximised the available space to create 2 large double bedrooms, a walking wardrobe and an en-suite. I believe that Toby would usually manage the project including the design, after discussing what the client want and agreeing a layout. In this instance we did the plans ourselves, including some high and very specific specs. Some of our design was more tricky than some of the more regular conversions (especially our bathroom which includes a walking shower with granite bench) and required the work to be perfect for the finish to work. Toby and his team managed it very well and we have an amazing space that we love. His team was very nice and discreet. The company that he employed to do the scaffolding were not as good and conscientious as his own team, but I believe that he has since change scaffolding company.

    Loft conversion with dormer
Toby and his team did a loft conversion (dormer with bedroom and shower room) plus some work on our hallway (flooring including replacing rotten joists and wall plastering) in Oct 19 to Jan 20. We asked for quotes from 3 companies which were all similar on price, but we found Toby best understood what we were after and could fit us in before Christmas. Everything had a v high quality finish and they were all really friendly and pleasant. The work was all done on time. Toby promised he'd be done by Christmas and he was, bar a few snags which were quickly ticked off in Jan after we had decorated. We're really happy with the conversion. Toby was able to maximise the usable space, so we've ended up with a really large space in the loft. Toby was good at advising on design and layouts and troubleshooting all through the build. The scaffolding may be a bit more expensive, because they built a fully wrapped, tin roof, but it turned out it was well worth it because it rained solidly for the first month of the build and we didn't drop a day's work. The builders also came in through the roof for the first month or so, which minimised disruption of family life (we have 2 small kids). And even when the stairs went in and they were coming through the house, the guys were very conscientious and didn't cause much disruption despite working on all 3 floors. Overall, would highly recommend Toby and his team for a loft conversion.

Dormer loft conversion - plans & permission in place, ready to proceed
Absolutely over the moon with our build, Toby and the team took a set of base plans and developed them into a fabulous space, using experience and know-how to find a build that maximised the space. Friendly and professional throughout, we felt considered and consulted all the way through the build from start to finish, and highly recommend 3CBuild. We now have two large bedrooms and a decent sized bathroom with a great fit and finish that required little other than paint to finish off. Really communicative, with great ideas and suggestions of what to do (and what not!) as the build developed. Always informed on the build stages, and where we were in the program, the build was clean and tidy given the location, neighbours considered throughout when deliveries, parking and noise are concerned. Any potential issues were flagged well in advance and the best solutions considered - we needed to have the front roof re-slated as the tiles could not be re-used - this was dealt with within the program timing for very reasonable costs. We finished on Budget, with a great quality of build - more than happy to talk through or share photos / viewings if you want to check the quality and finish of our loft - we are really happy.

30s loft conversion - possible gable end

I'm returning to leave a review a while after the job has finished... I am prompted to do so by today's discovery that when these guys moved our toilet, they didn't cap the soil pipe properly. The part they used was too large to fit into the pipe so they just balanced it on top using a bit of glue! This has led to smell, bacteria and rats entering our food preparation area! Just because they were too lazy to go and get the proper parts (which an excellent plumber, Redline (Bristol) has now done). Also, a new door opening was made too large for a standard door so we were left with a fire door with a 1 inch gap at the bottom, later fixed with addition of a piece of wood. Other issues included but were not limited to: swearing at me in front of my young children, leaving my property unlocked, breakages, poor communication, asking me to fix boiler & power cut issues rather than come back themselves to fix, poor quality floor levelling and carpentry, expensive boiler repairs (subcontractor) that didn't need doing - they both hadn't listened when I explained the problem, sockets at incorrect height, scaffolders bent aerial causing additional expense, and intimidating behaviour over a stage payment misunderstanding. NOT recommended - health hazard.

    Answer from tradesperson:

Julia is without doubt the most unhinged women I've ever met! Such a struggle dealing with a drunk depressed angry women. Shes a calculated liar.. I spoke to her 'plumber' there were no rats....if I had time in my life I'd take her to court for slander .....

Loft conversion for my Victorian semi-detached
We are delighted with the loft conversion done by 3C Build. The team were excellent, always turned up, got on with the job & have left us with a brilliant addition to our house. Everyone that has been to see it has loved it, and even had the comment of ‘loft envy’. Really liked the other tradespeople used too within the job, professional & reliable. Would certainly recommend to anyone considering a loft conversion.

    Loft Conversion
Absolutely fantastic job- very happy with our beautiful loft conversion completed on time and with no additional costs. Toby was exceptionally helpful throughout, and was brilliant at keeping us informed about everything that was happening. The job was done on a really tight timescale which we didn't really believe was achievable, but despite a few issues and late design changes from us along the way Toby still managed to get it done on time. It was also a tight space to fit everything we wanted in, and Toby's design input was invaluable in making sure we got what we wanted. All the people working with him were really friendly and helpful as well; scaffolders, carpenters, plumbers etc. Would 100% recommend, and in fact already have to several of my friends and colleagues.

Removal of 2 x loadbearing and 1 partition wall
Our project was a significant (3/4 weeks work) to structurally alter our project in-line with building regs and structural calculations. I would happily recommend Toby (3CBuild) for anyone looking to make a similar project. Our project - Removal of 2 load bearing walls - Removal of a chimney breast - Removal of internal non-load bearing wall - 4 brick pillars laid - Significant amount of steel for the above - Structural calculations were managed by a 3rd party Summary feedback - Very competitive quote - Upfront in pricing (no additional jobs added during the project) - Transparent about timings, availability, requirements - Pleasure to deal with Toby himself - Provided an enormous amount of advice and direction for jobs that he was not being paid for - Tradesmen who work for him are considerate and good at their jobs
