I am the owner and householder of the property in question. I already have one quote for this work so I am looking for some more for comparison.

The roof is a double gable blue slate roof approximately 58 sq metres in total. It has a central valley gutter. The property is a Victorian two-storey mid terrace. It is likely that scaffolding would be required at the front and rear of the property.

A recent survey indicated that the current roof, while not yet in poor condition, is coming to the end of its life span. While there is no evidence of any problem with the timbers, the nails holding the slates in place are starting to rust away and as a result approximately 20-25 slates have slipped or are damaged. The majority of the slates on the roof can be re-used however. We would also like to take the opportunity to get breathable felt laid beneath the slates. The central valley gutter also needs stripping and replacing with 5 pc lead.

Below are further details of the work involved according to the existing quote I have. In addition to this, there may also be some minor chimney work in respect of hacking off an eroded masonry string if necessary and minor repairs to chimney rendering. We may also take the opportunity to get the gutters cleared. Please quote separately for chimney and gutter work however.

Erect scaffolding to front and rear elevations.

Take off ridges and store on site.

Strip blue slates and timber battens.

Lay and fix P.V.C. eaves guard into gutter and Roofshield breather felt membrane over rafters.

Fix new tanalised timber battens.

Strip out lead valley gulley and fit new code 5 lead.

Re-lay and fix slates supplying extra for damaged as needed.

Bed and point ridges with sand and cement mortar.

Remove all rubbish from site.

Hi there.

I seem to have damp coming through at ceiling level in my front bedroom.
After looking at the roof from the outside I see there is damage to the roof from the heavy snow/ wind and general bad weather.
The lead flash seems to be flapping about on the gable end.
I'm not sure if this is the culprit or if there's further problems.
I'm needing a quote for my insurance company to determine if they'll cover it under storm damage.
If they won't I still need the job doing so would like someone to come and take a look ASAP.

Hi we are looking for a trustworthy roofer to come and quote on a 1900 brick semi detached house. There are several things that need doing, the main one being re-roofing the utility. The coping is loose on the main roof and flashing is missing from some of the chimneys. There are some slate repairs that need doing as well. Gutters also need repainting on the inside to prolong their life expectancy.

The roof is causing damp on the inside walls of the two bedrooms inside.

I need someone to clean out the gutters at the front and back of my house. It is a terraced house.

We have found a leak into our bedroom. The leak happens when it rains so must come from roof, no pipes etc in roof space.
Roof is 15 ish years old part of an extension. Investigation of leak source would be needed as we do not know where the leak is on the extension roof.
There is no loft hatch in the extension so we cannot check from the inside.
We had our ridge tiles redone last year though so I doubt it can be from them.
