Water ingress from around chimney

  • Location: Caldicot
  • Hired: N P Iveson Quality Roofing & Building Services
  • Trade: Roofing
Job Description

Hi we have a slate roof house with a disused chimney that is leaking water into one of our first floor rooms. The internal water damage is restricted to the area around the chimney stack and there is no visible storm damage on the roof or around the chimney. It is thought that there is some breakdown of the lead flashing around the chimney, but this too looks sound, or perhaps water has soaked through the old chimney bricks and they simply need sealing as the damage has been very gradual. I would therefore like to receive quotes for a closer inspection and repair of the chimney to reseal it.

Leaking roof - inspection needed

There are six dormer windows on my house and at least three of them are leaking, apparently around the lead flashing where the sides meet the roof. An inspection will be needed to determine the actual cause and what will be needed to effect a repair.

Ridge Tiles and Dormer Window needs re-pointing

  • Location: Chepstow
  • Hired: Redroofline
  • Trade: Roofing
Job Description

3 Storey house approx 8 years old with pitched roof. Over the past few months we've noticed cement has fallen on to the pavement (very light and crumbles to the touch) from a number of ridge tiles on the roof. In addition, sparrows seem to have made their way in to the dormer window and cement facing has fallen out as a result. We'd like the ridge tiles checking and re-pointing and the dormer window re-cementing/pointing before the weather turns. If a solution can be found to stop the sparrows from nesting in the dormer (a ball of chicken wire?)that would be a bonus.
