Put En-suite doorway into a 1st Floor Structural Wall.
- Location: Ashby De La Zouch
- Hired: Spectrum Contracts (UK)
- Trade: Restoration & Refurbishment
- Positive feedback on 11th Dec 09
Job Description
I have a new bathroom arriving on 18th Dec and need a builder to knock through the Bedroom Wall and have an en-suite doorway located and finished in that wall (by the 18th Dec). The property is 1850s period and the wall is located on the first floor. The wall is approximately 6" thick, almost certainly load-bearing and the en-suite door needs to be sited approximately 2'-3' from the existing bedroom door which is also sited in this wall. It goes without saying that I do not want any structural issues arrising from this work, so only the experienced need submit a quote. Needs to be done quickly with the minimum of mess and at reasonable cost.
* The following information was added Monday, 23rd November, 2009 :
Not sure if it has any structural significance or not, but I should have said that the property is a 3 story and the 1st floor wall in question is therfore between the ground floor and another floor above.
