I need a quote for soundproofing an alcove at the side of a chimney. The alcove is 2.7m high and 1.2m wide. I need it doing properly, that is to say battening, rockwool, resilient bars, soundproof plasterboard or similar covering, and then skimming. I would prefer someone who has experience of doing this as it's important it works. If you do have experience and can advise of a better way than that I've suggested please feel free to do so.

The RSJ is approx 3.2 meters long not 2.3, We will provide the steel to the correct dimensions once the structural engineer has done his calcs. The wall is block construction in a house built approx 10 years ago. All electrics and gas will be removed prior to you starting.

When we had our house extended 6 years ago, at the last minute we decided on a bigger window and when we get heavy rain it leaks through the window frame and down to the garage ceiling below. full wall length.
