We had a new toilet & basin put in 18 months ago. Since then whenever we run the taps in the basin we get the most horrible smell down stairs in the kitchen (the drain is just outside the kitchen window) We have looked on forums & the general feel is that there may not be enough fall in the pipework that leads from the basin causing water to stagnate & so when we run the taps we flush smelly water down to the drain. There is no smell from the bath or toilet & when we run the taps for the first time in a while it is always worse than if we were to do it several times in short succession. We have had it rodded without any change & used various drain/sink un-blockers without any luck. Maybe we need the whole bathroom re plumbed? We would very much like an opinion & some one to fix this very frustrating problem for us.

We have a small leak from the shower (in bath) which is causing a wet patch on the ceiling downstairs. This has been fixed previously by the plumber who installed the shower but it has reappeared a year later.

We have also had two previous leaks (one in the same shower and one under the kitchen sink) and we would like someone to check that those repairs are OK.

We are looking for someone who is happy to guarantee their work - the previous plumber was unreliable and even though the house is under NHBC guarantee, we would rather pay someone to do the job properly than chase the original plumber up to come back again.
