Replace two T joins in ceiling

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: HPE Services
  • Trade: Plumbing
Job Description

I have two T joins above my boiler in the kitchen, one of which is blocked. I need it replaced.

I have gained access to the joins which are in the ceiling by cutting out a section of the plasterboard. The joins are near a floor joist and floorboard (see photos) so I'm nervous about undertaking the work myself. I have drained down the system, so the job is straight forward for someone with some soldering skill. I am looking for someone to turn up, remove the existing Ts and supply and fit replacements.

After the replacement I will deal with refilling the system and repairing the ceiling.

Water softener installation

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: DCW Bathroom and Kitchen Solutions
  • Trade: Plumbing
Job Description

We need to have a new water softener installed as our old one has broken. The supply pipes are in place and we plan to get exactly the same model again so it should not be too difficult to connect up. We've not yet bought the new softener and some decorating needs to be finished first so the job is not immediate. I will post another plumbing job, so please look at that as well.
Thanks

Remove one radiator, replace another with towel rail

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: Purple Plumbing
  • Trade: Plumbing
Job Description

Bathroom: Replace the radiator with a small heated towel rail. Quote needed for work and parts.

* Added 10th July, 2012 :
Bathroom measurements are as follows:
Pipes = 672mm from outside left to inside right.
Radiator = 605mm wide

This would be amazing: http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/heating-radiators/towel-radiators/floor-mounted-towel-radiators/central_heating/Bristan-Imperial-Chordiliere-Dual-Function-Towel-Rail-H-952-W-686-D-130mm-9271348

But something like this is our more realistic top choice: http://www.priceinspector.co.uk/d/66900453/Heating--amp-Cooling/Milano-White-Curved-Heated-Bathroom-Towel-Radiator-Rail-800mm-x-600mm-compare-prices

600 x 800 is about the right size for our room.

Plumb in belfast sink + other small jobs

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: Help 4 your Home
  • Trade: Plumbing
Job Description

We have recently refitted our kitchen, and have replaced a standard sink with a belfast sink: as a result the drain of the sink is lower so cannot easily be connected to the waste pipe. In addition to the waste pipe, we need the taps connected & the sink sealed around the edge.

We could do with this being done as soon as possible, and there are also a couple of other misc plumbing jobs we'd like to have looked at.

Thanks

Bill

Fitting of replacement electric shower

  • Location: Reading
  • Hired: Help 4 your Home
  • Trade: Plumbing
Job Description

We have an electric shower which we have stopped using as water pours down the back of the shower unit when its turned on. We would like to replace the existing shower with a new one but without affecting the tiles etc. We are conscious that there are two water pipes feeding into the bottom of the unit and that most showers on the market only accommodate one. We may therefore also need one of the pipes capped off.

We would welcome a quote to supply and to fit the new unit. We would also welcome your advice as to whether an electrian would also be needed. If necessary we can send a photo of the existing unit prior to any visit.
