Some contain water. None are used. There are also old copper pipes. I would like at least the tanks removed to allow the loft to be used as storage space but potentially also the pipes. Semi loft conversion

  • Location: New Malden
  • Hired: roomers
  • Trade: Loft Conversions
Job Description

Our loft currently is partly boarded and used for storage, we would like to increase the space available for storage and strengthen the floor joists so that more weight can be stored up there.
We don't want to do a full loft conversion, so will not be making this a habital space, but would like to make the loft more comfortable by:
- improving the insulation
- replacing existing glass roof tiles with a velux window
- adding plaster board on the eaves
- adding power sockets
The area we are looking at is approximately 10 sq metres. This is a 3-bed Edwardian house. We are not expecting to re-tile the roof or adjust the roof line in anyway, there is enough head room available already.
We are the owners.
As we are not doing a full loft conversion we have not submitted any planning permission or contacted building control.
We would like the work to include second fix, but not plastering of the plaster board.
We already have a loft ladder, but it is rather old, so would like to see if we can replace it.
We would like the job to be completed by Mid June.
We would like the quote to provide a breakdown of all the costs - labour, materials etc.

Loft conversion

  • Location: Wimbledon
  • Hired: roomers
  • Trade: Loft Conversions
Job Description

Turn loft space into single room.

Add an extention room with loft space

  • Location: Wimbledon
  • Hired: Dave Building Contractor
  • Trade: Loft Conversions
Job Description

The job needs to add another room with the loft space in the house. The approximate size is 2m (H) X 2.5m (L) X 3 m (W) and involves a new floor to be built.

The house is a one bedroom house and this loft space is going to convert the existing loft into a second bedroom. There is no need for outside work but internal work required.(So no need for council permision but will require project cetification once the work is carried out). Two windows needs to be opend from the loft to get the light into this extra room. The existing loft floor needs to be alternate and to make the loft have enough hight (2m) for the room. This means the second bedroom (the new room) is on 1st and half floor.

More details can be supplied during visiting.

Loft DustProofing / Boarding / ladder

  • Location: Upper Norwood
  • Hired: FOX CONTRACTS ROOFING & BUILDING CO
  • Trade: Loft Conversions
Job Description

Our loft is within a 'London' roof, its quite long (9m), but only about 1 metre high at its tallest.
We would like to make the area a clean easily accessible dustproof storage space. At present part of the loft is fully boarded, some is partially boarded, the eves have no boarding at all (the insulation is exposed). The biggest problem we have with the loft is the amount of dust up there .

We would like the loft:
Dust Proofed
Fully Boarding
Hatch Widened
Loft Ladder installed
Possibly the ligtening extended depending on cost/budget (there is one light at hatch)
There's also some wood at one end that we would like removed. (Can possibly do this ourselves)

Happy to receive quotes or arrange for viewing (evening or daytime)

Total Loft Conversion

Job Description

To create additional room and bathroom. Planning granted and building regulation drawings with structural calculation submitted to the local council.

Roof strengthening and loft boarding

  • Location: Wimbledon
  • Hired: Abbott & Costello Interiors
  • Trade: Loft Conversions
Job Description

When I moved into my house (2 bed semi) we had a survey done which recommended adding some additional joists and props to strengthen the roof - at some point the original tiles have been replaced with concrete tiles without the roof being strengthened.

I have a set of technical drawing detailing the work - 3 new joists, additional support to another joist and 4 new props.

I am also arranging to have the loft insulated (via the government grants) and would like to keep some of the roof for storage. So I would like the joists for some of the loft space (approx 6m sq) raising to accommodate the extra insulation, and the space boarding.
