Landscape Gardening jobs in Brighouse, West Yorkshire

Garden overhaul - hard and soft landscaping.

  • Location: Huddersfield
  • Hired: KNS Property Maintenance
  • Trade: Landscape Gardening
Job Description

We are looking for someone who is happy to work with us on the design of our garden and then carry out the work to realise it.

We have a small back garden which leads down to two terraces. Beyond the lower terrace is a wooded slope. Although all areas need work we don't necessarily want all this done as one ongoing job.

It is difficult to give precise details of what we want but these are our thoughts:

Back Garden (estimated area 25 sq m)
We need a new surface, probably gravel or flags. At present it is very patchy grass (the result of building work).

Some kind of 'natural' water feature.

General tidying up.

Terraces 1 and 2
Each terrace needs a new fence/railing approx 4m length. The lower one to have a gate in this giving access to the slope.

Each terrace has a bed with a stone retaining wall. Beds need tidying up.

Wooded slope (estimated area 130 sq m)

...you'd need to see it(!) but we're hoping to have a 'rustic' path zig-zagging down.

* Added 24th February, 2013 :
Just to clarify - it can be done as a job from start to finish, we thought it may be easier to do the work in stages. Basically whatever is most convenient.

Removal of soil, building of small wall and turf laying

  • Location: Leeds
  • Hired: S.T.Kelliher Groundworks
  • Trade: Landscape Gardening
Job Description

Hi,

I’m looking for some work completing in the back garden, in a nutshell: soil removal, a little wall building and some turfing.

What I need:-
1) remove block area through middle of garden to a skip
2) break up and remove concrete path to skip
3) remove small tree/shrub and roots in middle of garden to skip
4) level rear of garden to natural ground level (ie same height as lower side of garden), removing shrubs and significant amount of soil to skip
5) build block retaining wall to support the dividing wall between gardens - on the diagram the wall will need to be in the top-right corner and 4.3m long. I would like 3-4 buttresses to the existing wall and a new wall along the face - this will be backfilled with soil so will act as a raised flowerbed.
6) the blockwork area can be backfilled with soil (if of reasonable quality) to reduce the amount of soil going to skip
7) depending on quality of soil, top soil may need to be brought in and spread
8) all ground made good for turfing ie stones and roots removed, ground levelled and compacted
9) turf laid from approximately 3.5 metres away from the house, through the full width of garden to rear wall and around corner to new raised flowerbed.

I’m happy for site inspections to be carried out prior to quoting – please contact me to arrange.

I would like a quote for labour and an estimate for materials (including skip, turf, wall materials etc), including VAT where applicable.

*Please note that entry to the back garden is along an imprinted concrete driveway, as such I’m not sure that it will withstand heavy vehicles or machinery such as skips, material drop offs or diggers. The skip(s) and materials will need to be dropped at kerbside and wheelbarrowed to the back garden.

re-vamp small garden back and front

  • Location: Bradford

Shed base and patio

  • Location: Wakefield
  • Hired: York landscape and tree service's
  • Trade: Landscape Gardening
Job Description

I'm on a budget and am looking to tidy up my garden.

I need a 5 x 4m paved area building on which to put a shed. This area is currently grass / mature shrubs which I require cutting back.

I also have a 4 x 4m patio area at the top of my garden. The patio is v old with grass growing between the slabs - I'd like this area re-paving with new slabs to create a small patio. Both paved areas to match ideally.

As I said I'm on a budget so I'm not looking for expensive stone etc..

Quote to include labour and materials please.

Thanks
