Old kitchen removed and new kitchen installed

  • Location: Watford
  • Hired: T.A.Moore Building & Plumbing.
  • Trade: Kitchen Fitting
Job Description

We need to have a new kitchen & utility room - we are having it designed middle of September by John Lewis and will be buying units which are fully assembled. In the kitchen - Not sure how many units yet but at a guess approx. 12 -13 plus drawers and we are having a freestanding dresser. We need to have existing kitchen removed - including some tile removal & dado rail removal. Existing floor covering (I think wood style laminate & tiles) need removal and floor needs levelling in some places, an old serving hatch behind tiles needs to be removed and boarded up. Appliances we are having are freestanding range cooker, free standing fridge freezer american style, butler sink. Plumbing needs to be included but electrics will be dealt with by a family member who is a qualified electrician. We need a small amount of tiling behind cooker and on windowsills. Ceiling needs to be boarded and plastered and walls will need plastering too. We are looking at having a quartz worktop in the kitchen.

Size of kitchen is 5.03m x 4.11m
Plus small utility room - will need plastering walls & ceiling & new sink installed and probably 1 base unit and 1 double wall unit and small amount of worktop - probably wooden or laminate.

* Added 7th September, 2012 :
We are also having a full-size integrated dishwasher which will need to be installed.

-------- EDIT -----------

I have now removed existing cabinets and oven will be removed. There will need to be some plastering done (the original cabinets were nailed into the wall).

Appliances have been bought (delivery on 15th) but need to be fitted.

SOME electrical work required - for oven, fridge and freezer (due to there only being one socket) and tumble dryer (no existing socket on right hand side of kitchen).

Ideally I would like to use Benchmarx (from Travis Perkins) units which are the same as Wickes but already assembled so a trade account would be a bonus.
