I have attempted to fit a curtain rail in a newly decorated room. However, none of the drills I have can get through, what I'm guessing is, the lintel above the window. Unfortunately, I do not know whether it is concrete or steel.

We cannot move the curtain rail above the lintel, as the curtains we have were altered to the suit the drop of the window. My partner is not really receptive to using a wooden batten, as she feels it will ruin the look of the room.

Therefore, I'm looking for someone who has the necessary tools to mount the curtain rail to the lintel. The curtain rail is fairly lightweight, 166cm long and is mounted using 5 detachable brackets.

Ideally we would like the rail fitted ASAP and have someone at home all day, every day.

I've tried to put up a floating shelf but had to stop after half the holes have been drilled (my drill died plus I'm not strong enough!). Also have a few pictures that need hanging (again wall too hard for me to just tap nails into and some are up the staircase). Having always asked friends or family before and waiting months I'd like to find out the cost of hiring someone.
