I am wanting to fit an old-style clothes airer on a ground floor ceiling.

I have failed to find the ceiling joists - I tried using a stud detector, as well as a neodymium magnet. No luck.

I need someone who can find them accurately as the weight of the airer is significant and absolutely needs to be hanging from the joists.

New square part is likely needed (and to be cut for dog door). A preliminary assessment of parts is probably best to get measurements and to see if the current dog door square is adaptable in anyway to the new door.
