Help with concrete slab pour

  • Location: Sandy
  • Hired: Nick Construction
  • Trade: Groundwork & Foundations
Job Description

The hardcore, sharp sand, insulation, dpm has already been done, the forms are already in place.

Next job is to get a couple of chaps to give me a hand with pouring the concrete, I'll arrange for the readymix lorry to turn up and i'll need you lads to wheelbarrow the concrete into the garden, estimated 30 barrow runs, short distance, its from the front of the house to the back and then pour it in, screed it, float it, trowel it.

No other work required apart from the above, you must have your own tools like fresno, bull-float, barrows etc.

You're probably looking at 2-3 hours work max on this job.

I dont want a rip-off company applying for this job, this is a self-build and I'm running low on funds (recessions killing us all hey) so am happy for decent honest builders to bang in an honest fair quote.

I'll help out with the barrow runs and anything else I can do to expediate the work before the concrete sets.

The dimensions are 16'x10' times two, two seperate slabs.
Quote me happy for a good 2-3hours work, and the jobs yours.
Ideally two of you are required, as added incentive for doing a simple job, hot coffee /cold drinks will be provided before and after completion, cant argue with that can you lads.

Now quote away!

Man with a wacker/compactor plate!

  • Location: Sandy
  • Hired: D.Catt Builders
  • Trade: Groundwork & Foundations
Job Description

I will pay £100 to anyone who's got a wacker/compactor plate for an hours job.
Need two small trenches flattening, they both measure at 4.8m x 3m, only about 20mm of sub-base already poured requiring compaction.

I guess if you're a wacker-pro you'll get it done in 30 mins, I'll throw in a cup of coffee and some digestives for an honest service.

Today if possible or tomorrow morning?

Remove and dispose of piled up top-soil

  • Location: Sandy
  • Hired: Nick Construction
  • Trade: Groundwork & Foundations
Job Description

Soil has already been removed and piled up in the back garden. I'm doing a self-build kennel.

The access from front is restricted, private parking is provided as I live in a close and have a driveway, but only a regular 900mm gap walkway along the side of the house into the garden.

At the back of the garden there is an embankment which one could reverse a small truck up behind the back fence and the soil could in theory be bridged over the fence to make life easier for the removal process.

I was going to do all this myself, but since using a digger which enjoyed bouncing around a bit I've done me back in, brilliant hey.

Any good strong man or lads up for the job drop me a recession friendly quote.

So basically remove the soil and dispose of it.

If you quote me happy and are interested in doing some other bits and bobs for me then we can talk more as I most likely will be needing some assistance in completing this project now I got a sods-law bad-back.
