I want laminate flooring in my living room which measures 15ft x 13ft also plus a small porch area. I have been quoted a price from a company in North Shields which includes the flooring and fitting, but I thought it was rather high.

The room will have no furniture other than 2 x 3 seater sofa's and it would need the beading around the skirting and one threshold strip into the dining room which is tiled and I am hoping the small porch can be ran straight into the living room.

I live in a groud floor Tyneside flat. The kitchen floor is concrete. Two years ago I had a new kitchen fitted and the floor was self levelled before being tiled. About 6-8 months later the tiles started coming loose and lifting. When I lifted some of the tiles up there was damp patches left on the concrete and other tiles that I have lift up the adhesive is still stuck to the floor but not the tiles! I am looking to the the floor relayed but need someone who can identifiy what the problem is and what is the best type of flooring to put down so this doesn't happen again.

We are ordering the laminate flooring and underlay from a site on the internet.

Measurements of the rooms we require laminate layed for are:

Kitchen = 14.88sqm
LivingRoom = 13.89sqm
Hallway = 6.23sqm
Bedroom 1 = 15.59sqm

*I have removed workbenches and alcoves etc from the measurements, so this is approx. how much laminate we’ll be purchasing and how much needs to be laid in each room.

The décor of the house is quite out of date, if possible we'd also like the skirting boards in these rooms removed as these need replacing.

The house is currently empty of furniture until 8th/9th of December so nothing will need to be moved etc. We'll also be ripping out all of the carpet and existing underlay.
