Quote to include labour only please. Sufficient materials (Laminate boards, polyfoam underlay, scotia and threshold trim) will be provided. Room will be cleared and stripped of existing carpet. Current undertrim is level fibreboard fixed above original wood flooring. House is built on a slant but we believe the room to be on an acceptable level.

The house is a Victorian terrace in a relatively poor state of internal repair. Future projects will include reflooring most of the other rooms in the house. We are therefore looking for someone to do a good job on this project who we can then employ to refloor the remainder of the house.

I want to replace the carpet with either engineered wood or bamboo flooring. The bidder should be able to professionally perform the following

Make a list of materials required for the installation
Measure the moisture content and make recommendations
Lay the underlay
Lay the wood flooring
Adjust the skirting if required without removing it
Adjust doors if required (unlikely)
Dispose of the carpet and any other rubbish

We need to get the floorboards in a lounge, dining room and entrance way sanded and stained. The total floor space is 30m sq . As this is downstairs and we have dogs - we would like to have an extra coat of varnish ( or something which makes them more tougher and resistant to dog claws). We have previously had the upstairs done and also the stair treads using Calgon stain and would like to use the same shade. Who ever takes the job - we would also like to discuss the stair treads as they may need a little rework on the edges of the step where the stain seems to have faded - but not a full resand we believe.
