two week ago my bathroom light worked fine, then it stopped, my son reached up and moved the lamp shade and cable that hangs from the ceiling and it came back on for 4/5 days now it's back off, I've tried replacing the cable that hangs from the ceiling still does not work.

(I have a problem with my electrics. I live in a through terraced house and the sockets on the second floor, a double socket in one bedroom and a double socket in another room have stopped working. Also the light in the front room doesn't work.

I have had an electrician look at the problem and he couldn't find the cause but says it might need rewiring. It's been a long time since this house was rewired so I think he may be right, it will also be an opportunity to install more sockets. So I'm looking for a quote for a rewiring job.

Currently there is a main/centre light in the room/s so the feed/s from these can be used for the downlights....but I will need the wire supplying from the junction box to the downlights etc..

The landing light switch at the bottom of the stairs is loose/broken and the light with this switch (on the ceiling at the top of the stairs) has fused and is black. As this is the case we have made the decision not to touch it. We would appreciate someone who can take a look at it and fix as needed. Hi, the pull switch in the bathroom (old house) has died a death and then had the cord snapped off it by accident too, but I think I need a complete new switch putting in anyway.
I know its not a big job, but it needs doing and I'd personally rather not mess with electrics, particularly when they haven't been replaced in 40 years. Would appreciate some quotes if possible.

The house is a stone built, semi detached, two storey property from 1860.

There is a ground floor kitchen and lounge with two bedrooms and a very small third bedroom on the 1st floor. Currently each room has a single socket connected to an old type black wire fuse box. I need the lighting and electrical circuits rewiring ( a bathroom and fire alarm has recently been installed onto a new rcd unit) onto an rcd unit and an additional socket placed in each room.
A new kitchen is to be installed at around the same time so cooker points/ worktop sockets and low level sockets along with spot lights are needed in the kitchen.
The property will not be occupied and the walls should have most plaster stripped so access should not be a problem. All floor are suspended wooden floors apart from the left hand ground floor kitchen floor.
Please could any quote include labour and materials.
