Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing a property which is somewhat dated. I need someone to perform an electrical test and provide a certificate for the electrical installation.

I would also like a report for the current condition of the electrics and what, if any, needs to be rectified.

Although i do not have the keys, the property is presently empty and is accessable by obtaining the keys from the estate agent.

My HBR report states....

Mains electricity is connected. The meter and consumer unit are located in the cellar.

The observed wiring and fittings are a mixture of ages and appear to have been extended/altered suggesting partial rewiring in the past. Some elements will require upgrading.

No recent works appear to have been undertaken and there is no test certificate.

Accordingly, instruct a qualified electrician(NICEIC/ECA registered) to test the electrical installation and report to its condition together with a quotation for any repair/renewal.

Following a visit from a previous contractor, our kitchen skirting board lighting is now only partially working, and the board which houses the lighting strip will now not stay in place (falls down each time the dishwasher is opened).
