We just bought a house with an old style fuse box system and it requires quite a bit of rewiring to bring it up to regs and to what we require.

We have a competent family member who is without the required part P certification, so we would like whoever comes to look at the job to be willing to work with him to keep costs down. We're willing to do the majority of the time consuming work ie. laying cables and drilling holes if possible.

We would like someone to come and give us their opinion of the current wiring (we're not sure exactly what is what based on what is coming out of the fusebox) and what they think is required with a view to taking on all parts which require part P certification.

Preferably want to seem someone this Saturday (6th April) as that is when the family member will be down at the house to talk to you.

We have 3/4 switch lights that needs looking at. On 2 of the switches, the light don't always turns on when switched on. One of them in a standard light bulb switch (bedroom) and the other ones are a spot light (downstairs toilet). The third/fourth switch that needs looking at is the one in the hallway. The switch from the top of the stairs work however when attempting to switch the light off and back on from the bottom of the stairs, it does not work.

Hello,

I have just moved into a property (built in 1990s) and found that the main bedroom and hall way ceiling roses do not have earth wires. Strangely the ceiling rose in the adjacent bedroom does have an earth wire meaning earth wires exist in the near vicinity. The property has access to the loft to enable access above the rooms mentioned.

I am interested in getting a quote for wiring in earth wires on just 1 or both ceiling roses.
