Remove existing tarmac driveway over approx 50m2 plus border with stumps beside fence and area on existing lawns to create an opening of 6.5 meters x 5 meters sweeping round to corner of house (total 70m2). Excavate 250mm from finished level, lay Teram sheet, backfill with 150mm type 1 and compact with HEAVY whacker plate.

Lay new decorative rumbled kerbs on concrete and haunch to retain driveway on both sides for 24 linear meters. Install Aqua channel along front edge of garage to drain. Check all levels and crossfalls ready to screed 50mm granite sand and lay Tobermore Roma 60mm Bracken with Masfair Setts Sandstone double border.

NOTE: When removing wire fence from front, the wire will need to be cut at neighbours end and the holding post moved and reconnected to the wire fence at neighbours end of the garden.
Foundation Groundwork

Installation of New Front Door Steps
Using the same monoblocking / kerbing styling, install 2 or 2 steps at front door – shapes to be decided, ideas welcome.
Flower Bed
Leave a gap in the monoblocking down the west side for a flower bed. The flower bed should have kerb edging as shown in the above photo. Ensure there will be adequate drainage in the flower bed before applying top soil ready for planting of shrubs. Flower bed dimensions / shape to be decided – ideas welcome.
Drainage
It is essential that the monoblock / paving is above street level and sloping very slightly away from the house so that all rain water moves away from the house down onto the road without any puddles forming on the monoblock.

Erect Fencing Down Both Sides of Garden
Characteristics of fencing as follow:
• No gap between fence panels
• 50 inches in height
• All wooden posts secured with cement
• The end posts should be unique with some sort of design – open to ideas
• All post ends should be sealed prior to entering the ground. Consider soaking in sealer for a day prior to erecting.
• All new end grains from fresh cutting must be sealed prior to erecting.
• Fence top rail must be applied to prevent water erosion.
• Each fence post should have a post cap to prevent water erosion.
• There will be no fencing to the front of the garden, this will be open plan.
• The West panel will be approx. 355 inches.
• The West panel will be approx. 288 inches.
If possible, the monoblock kerbing should go to the outside of the fencing or level with the fence posts to prevent weeds coming from neighbouring gardens. Possible solution for this could be as shown below:
