I have internal damp in the kitchen of my house, it seems to be at the middlr level of the wall and is gradually moving across the wall. It mostly apprears during the winter, the house is an old cottage.

I have just bought an old victorian terraced house which requires complete renovation. There is fairly extensive damp throughout the ground floor beneath both the old (wooden) bay window at the front, and the new plastic window to the rear. At the front is is rising from floor level whereas at the back it is below the windowsil and to the sides but does not reach the floor . The kitchen extension is also quite damp, as is the bathroom on the first floor which is also part of the extension.

The house is completely empty and has been for around a year. I have stripped off all of the wallpaper and the damp is quite clearly visible on the plaster. The house does not feel or smell particularly damp and all of the floorboards are in good condition.

There has previously been an injection DPC installed, although I have no idea how old this is.

I have had varying advice and opinions concerning what is the best fix and am after a bit more before I decide what to do. Ideally I would like to begin work on the problem in the next couple of weeks...

We have 2 damp areas in the house which could need damp proofing but not too sure.
We have had a conservatory put in not too long ago and the problem has only seemed to occured since then which is why i am questioning rising damp.

It is in a corner of the room which is adjacent to a neighbours house and has risen to about 3 foot. The area concerned has gone a bit salty as it has been there for about a month now.

The floorboards next to it are perfectly dry and the ceiling is fine aswell

Both walls under stairs
Wall between lounge and kitchen
Right hand side of rear doorwall to right of kitchen units (approx 1m)

3ft plaster removed to damp proof. Remove and refit radiator, kitchen unit etc. Replaster.

This is a standard size terrace in Royton, Oldham. I can provide room dimensions if required but not specific to areas of work as I do not yet have access to the building.

Ongoing problems with damp walls downstairs in my mid terraced house, built circa 1900 so no cavity. Damp and black mould inside on the front and back walls rising about 2 feet above skirting. It already had a damp proof course injected before I bought it in 2003. I've been renting the property and my tenant keeps the place very cold and didn't let me know how bad it had got. He's about to move out and my daughter is moving in at the beginning of March so I really want to get it all sorted before she does. In Feb last year a builder re-pointed the back wall in various places and fixed the gutter which solved upstairs damp but unfortunately it hasn't made any difference downstairs. Can you help?

There is some signs of damp in my bedroom, I think this may be caused by condensation. I have tried using a dehymidifier and opening the window every day however the damp keeps on returning. The damp started under the window frame (window often has moisture on). The damp then increased and started on the join between the wall and ceiling. It seems to only be on one wall in the room. The house is terrace, when we purchased the property we had a damp proof done on the ground level. The damp started to show a few years ago and we have tried to get rid of this but it comes back.
