Dear Sir/Madam,
We require a traditional French drain (no pipe) to be create around a Victorian property that has damp problems. This work was recommended by the surveyor and we have had a damp survey carried out. The drain is recommended to be 15cm deep and 10cm wide, filled with 2cm pea shingle and a studded membrane put against the external wall. One side the house is grass (about 7 metres in length), but the other side has concrete paving slabs up to the wall, which we are considering removing, but in the meantime may need cutting to create the drain. This side is about 6 metres in total length. The drain will cover about 13 metres.
We are looking for a competitive quote for this work - ideally by the weekend.

We have damp in two chimney breasts in our 1930s house, both of which have good new cowls on; also occasional evidence of damp in an outside wall. We need someone to check the brick pointing of the chimneys and test the mortar for sand/cement proportions, and advise on solutions.

I believe I may have a problem with penerating damp problem in my first floor rooms.

There is obvious water and condensation build up in the upstairs rooms where the windows meet the walls and where the ceiling meets the walls meet.
It is at both the fromt and back of the property.
