A fresh wet patch has appeared on an upstairs bedroom wall by the chimney stack. We need to have this investigated/repaired and the chimney cowl refitted after it was knocked off by the chimney sweep.

Need current electric fire and laminate hearth and surround removing before fitting wooden mantlepeice, cast iron insert (victorian tiled style), and hearth. I think the current set up is the 'fix to the wall' type, so I suspect a hole would have to be made in the chimney breast to accommodate the new fireplace.
The new fireplace is for decorative purposes only if that makes a difference.
I'm looking to have this done in the next couple of weeks.

I have a 7.6m tall chimney on the side of my house in Tyldesley that has quite a few crumbling bricks that need cutting out, replacing together with the mortar flaunching to the chimney pot. Small job but will need scaffolding to work off.

I've noticed discolouration and a slight build up of mould on the upstairs ceiling around the chimney breast. Not a huge amount, and it's possible it may be due to the heating being turned off for a while, but it seems odd it's just around the chimney, which leads be to believe water may be getting in? I'd like a quote for going onto the roof to check and repair if necessary, thank you.
