Hi,

Looking for someone who can remove a Victorian fireplace for us and tidy up the void that's left with a simple rectangular space for a grate, with plastering and a reclaimed red brick hearth if possible.

We also need various plastering jobs done around the house, but appreciate we may need 2 separate contractors. These are hiding pipes, re-plastering bedroom walls (wood cladding has been up)and some minor work covering holes where lights have removed.

I live in Hatfield, Herts in a terrace house.
About 2 years ago i had a new fire installed, chimney swept etc.
Recently a lot of 'brick dust' has been falling down my chimney into the front room.
I've had a look outside the front and back of the chimney, but cant see anything obvious.
Looking for someone to come round ASAP and have a look and check it out for me

Our fire is open on two sides we require one side closed off, will take 1 square metre of area to accomplish this. Then the chimney wall will need plastering from ground to 1.5m high this a central column so 3 sides will need this plastering. Total area of plaster 5 metres. Finally a fire surround installed to make it look good.
Work required to be completed within two weeks from this date.

Removal of the existing large (approx. 127cm wide, 58cm deep, runs to ceiling) open fireplace made of brick. Chimney to be removed at least from living room (it runs up into main bedroom and loft). Make any needed repairs to wall, living room ceiling, main bedroom floor (and ceiling if necessary), and roof if necessary. Plaster etc to complete.

Chimney on a two bedroom victorian house in Ware needs either repair or removal. At present chimney leans slightly towards house and there is a long standing crack in the chimney breast in the loft. Mortor in loft area is also starting to become powdery and needs repointing.

Remove chimney breast from groundfloor reception room. (The remaining chimney breast on the first floor and in the loft has already been removed). Re-plaster wall and replace skirting and picture rail (wall width approx 290cm)

Just in front of the chimney breast there is a connection for a gas fire. We need this somehow 'capping off' under the floorboards.

The chimney breast also has a electrical socket fixed on it. This will need re-siting and we could do with another socket being added.

Finally, we would ideally like this work to be carried out before the end of May.
