Central Heating Installation / Water System
- Location: Grove Park
- Hired: JJB Electrical & Heating Services Ltd
- Trade: Central Heating
- Positive feedback on 31st May 13
Job Description
We've just had a survey done on a 1930s semi we're buying and these are the key things needing doing...
1. Install central heating - we're just awaiting a connection to mains gas so there is currently no pipework etc. (We'd like to discuss cost of possibly having under-floor heating on the ground floor). There are a few electric heaters that will need to be removed.
2. Remove the immersion heater from the bathroom cupboard.
3. Fit a shower in the bathroom.
4. Check pipework in the kitchen.
5. Clear out the water tank and install a lid.
6. Inspect the water system - is there lead piping? Lead underground mains pipe? If so, replace.

Install electric boiler/cylinder heater
- Location: Dagenham
- Hired: L.D Plumbing and Heating
- Trade: Central Heating
- Positive feedback on 17th Apr 13
Job Description
I currently have a cylinder hot water heater (cold water feed tank on top) and separate Salamander pump in my flat (no central heating, hot water only needed for shower and taps). The pump was replaced a month ago as the old one was leaking and very noisey. I was advised that the cylinder heater would need to be replaced soon as sediment and limescale had built up and this is the reason the water pump cannot supply hot water at the moment. (originally the new pump was installed with a surrey flange but this was removed a few days later due to blockages from sediment the hot water couldn't flow and pump stopped the second hot taps/shower switched on - this is situation at present) I've been given a nearly new boiler, same as this http://www.shop4-waterheaters.co.uk/product.php/387822118/redring_45551860_psa12_powerstream_ascari_white_steel_central_heating_hot_water_flow_boiler_4kw_12kw_230v/a127aa5eca58be5884d62b653546770b
Ideally if this boiler can be modifed (as central heating not required) with labour and part costs that make it worthwhile that would be great. If this is not advisable I'd need you to supply and fit a cylinder hot water heater/immersion (or let me know what cylinder/parts to buy and where and i can supply) connect up to the pump (checking no blockages in pipes) and dispose of old cylinder. Bascially I'd just like my hot shower and taps working in the cheapest way possible please! I have some photos of the current set up I can send you if it would help.
Thanks
Cheryl

New central heating/hot water system
- Location: Dartford
- Hired: A V H Plumbing & Heating Limited
- Trade: Central Heating
- Positive feedback on 11th Apr 13
Job Description
Have taken a rad off the wall but whole system needed draining down as no valve present on return side. Cant re-fill system, have tried everything but wont re-fill and the way it has been done up in the loft i have never seen before, gravity fed system but no seperate expansion tank, its all done of the main cold tank, vents as well and both my normal plumbers have said system has had it, all needs to be re done. They are both booked up for at least a month so i am looking to get someone in to suggest some ideas and give the cusomer a few quotes, obviously the quotes will go to the customer as i am just acting as a middle man. The couple are quite old and quite poorly and because i cant re-fill the system they have been without hot water and central heating yesterday and all today so im looking to get quotes done asap. I will show everyone who is shortlisted round so you can get an idea of the layout but in terms of the best system to put in i have no idea, my knowledge is only limited.

Replace 4 radiators in heating system
- Location: Grays
- Hired: dartford heating
- Trade: Central Heating
- Positive feedback on 31st Mar 13
Job Description
Looking to replace 4 radiators in the house due to poor performance, possibly full of sludge & external rusting. Small double in kitchen, large single in bedroom, large double in lounge & a small double in lounge. The small double was actually removed last year as it fell off wall so a bit of pipework will be needed too. Happy to get you round for quote or feel free to give a ballpark cost. Will need you to measure required radiator sizes, supply & fit, possibly including TRV's or new valves as appropriate & then balance system as appropriate. Also have a radiator in conservatory which was spurred off a radiator in Dining Room. It never really gets hot so would like a better solution if possible on your advice.
