Repair/replace faulty wireless heating system control

  • Location: Buckingham
  • Hired: Pury Plumbing and Heating
  • Trade: Central Heating
Job Description

Gas central heating systen with Worcester Greenstar 24Ri boiler was installed in February 2009 with the heating system controlled by a Drayton Digistat RF3 wireless system. This was working well until a few weeks ago when the heating started to switch itself off when heating was called for or not coming on when it should. I have managed to get it going by repeatedly lowering and raising the temperature until the system clicks in. The themostat has been moved around and new batteries installed - all to no avail. The system now seems to have stopped working altogether and no amount of fiddling with it seems to have any effect. I get the feeling that the system is clapped out as it is older than the rest of the heating system. It might be repairable or it might need a more modern replacement - I would welcome advice on this.

New Combi Boiler Required

  • Location: Princes Risborough
  • Hired: Avery & Son Ltd
  • Trade: Central Heating
Job Description

Hi, hope someone can help. Basically bought a house to renovate, mortgage company squeeze at last minute and now lack of work means funds are limited (like everyone) but really need a new boiler as old one is completely knackered. House is a building site as electrics are being done so easy access to under floorboards in everyroom

Old boiler is about 30 yrs old, no seal round edge, black marks on wall, keeeps getting air locked - so turned it and gas off. Current system is open vented standard setup with boiler in kitchen

We are currently using an immersion off the hot water cylinder

Ideally and if possible to keep outgoings down I would like to do as much as possible to assist, in terms of removing old pipes, chasing kitchen floor to run larger capacity gas pipe, no need to make good afterwards, anything else you are happy for me to do really! If possible we would also just like to have the hot water sorted with new boiler as we would really like to install wet underfloor heating when funds allow but need hot water now - will explain when you contact me

Please call me ASAP as we are looking to get this done within next couple of weeks

Thanks,

Nick
