i am looking for someone to fit some carpet for me, it is around 80sqm in total. the grippers and underlay will also need laying. I have not purchased the underlay and carpet yet so am open to ideas although i am looking to supply these. i have been quoted from a local carpet shop and it worked out above budget so am trying to bring it down by shopping around and getting the best price for the carpet, underlay and fitting.

need gripper on tile putting down which i presume has concrete underneath in a house, may need gripfast or similar to stop grippers moving, then cloud 9 11mm underlay, then carpet with brass strip type door bars which are screwed down and 2 other type which go into kitchen and bathroom which i think are nailed in, i have the grippers and underlay already and have already done 2 bedrooms and i am about to do lounge and can vouch for quality of materials i have purchased and will be aquiring a hessian backed carpet soon, most likely berber style, already taken doors off and have left a decent gap at bottom to allow for carpet and underlay and then i put doors back on and will put brush strips on doors myself when job is completed, looking for a free estimate and will compare a few estimates from this site and few local shops etc as my budget running low, house was in a bad way decorating wise so my cash gone on decor haha, hallway is 7.25m long and 1m in width all along apart from 1m in from front door just after a walk in cupboard the carpet reaches 2m in width at bottom of stairs then go's back to 1m in width for next 5.25m, i will be purchasing a 7.5m long carpet so would prefer no halfway joins if possible, i would be grateful for any free quotes as was going to do it myself as i done a half decent job in 2 rooms but im no pro and feel this is one job too far for me and would like a good finish. i also have gaffer tape and stikatak spray glue for underlay if fitter requires them for underlay

I have a small bathroom (2.9 sq m floor area) that requires new flooring and I would like to use Karndean Woodplank Effect vinyl. The floor is currently covered with newly laid plywood over floor boards so it just needs priming and the new flooring cutting to size and gluing down. I will supply the new flooring which will be from the Karndean Knite-Tile range (one pack = 3.34 sq m). I have checked the door clearance and it seems to be more than enough.

I will prime the floor myself using PVA as recommended by Karndean and will also supply the Karndean Pressure Sensitive Adhesive and A2 spreader required.

Hi there,

If you can supply a vinyl similar to the above that's fine it's 3mm thick and like a black tile effect.

Just for info the lintels may need shaving down on the kitchen units.

Job Description

This is not an easy job! The existing flooring in my kitchen is glued down onto concrete and I cannot lift if for love nor money it is going a centimetre at a time. The kitchen is not huge at all.

I have some new vinyl ready to go down but would like it all redone in one go rather than me trying to pick at it and make my kitchen look a mess for weeks. If you fancy a challenge please get in touch! Many thanks

I have since been quoted £120-£150 depending on how long it could take to up strip the old floor and told it may need a wash of self leveling screed if the floor is uneven after the old vinyl is taken up at an extra cost of £65. If you can beat this then please message me thanks!
