Recently purchased a Victorian terrace house and there was some dampness in the bathroom is two corners and the ceiling was starting to appear to be coming away in one of the corners. There had been no ventilation in the room until last year so I assumed that this was the cause for the dampness. This might have been an issue for some time as a previous owner had put a plasterboard ceiling up underneath the original lath.

I decided to take it all down with the intention of replacing with a plaster slab ceiling however I discovered that there were some rotted joists so this put the job on hold at the weekend.

So I'd like the get the joists repaired/replaced and the ceiling slabs put up. Joists are 3"x2" and 10ft in length which I don't have but I've already got the slabs for the ceiling.

We had planned to move in this weekend so need to get this sorted as soon as possible please, thanks.

Hi I have a large sofa which came in when the builders were on site through the window! Now need to get it out of house which is a 3 storey townhouse as lounge on 1st floor. Rather than pay for scaffold, window taken out and then replaster etc. thought about removal of the staircase bits which seem to be the only thing stopping it getting out of the house. House is a redrow 3 storey townhouse in Swindon. Can someone give me indication if this can be done? and idea of costs for labour/materials etc. Job needs to be done some time next week.

I have 5 lightweight, 6 panel pre primed Colonial doors that need hanging. They are 2' 6" but will need to be trimed to 2' 5.5 width and poss a bit off the 6' 6" height to accomodate the new carpet.
All five doors will need door furniture fitted.
Doors and latches/furniture and hinges will be supplied.
